In this episode, I’m talking to veteran British comedian Mike Gunn, behind the scenes in Birmingham, shortly before he takes the stage at the Glee Club. Mike starts off by telling me about how his heroin addiction and recovery led to him taking to the stage. His first shows in London’s biggest clubs and his graduation to TV work. Mike also explains the differences between performing in comedy clubs and doing standup in large theatres, arenas and on television. Finally, he tells me about the vagaries of fame that he sees when comedians start enjoying national and international success. This is part one of the interview.
