In this episode, I’m continuing my conversation with veteran British comedian Mike Gunn, behind the scenes in Birmingham, shortly before he takes the stage at the Glee Club. Mike starts off by explaining why he’s considering quitting standup, as the economics of the circuit are now stacked against comedians. He’s also frustrated by how touchy and easily offended audiences have become. Mike explains his disdain for many of the bland new comedians coming through who see standup as a stepping stone to other careers, and his contempt for many of the people running comedy courses that are flooding the circuit with those same bland acts. You can find out more about Mike Gunn by visiting his website, or by following him on Facebook and Twitter.
