In this episode I’m talking to writer, comedian (and occasional actor) Tez Ilyas who has enjoyed a rapid rise up the comedy industry ladder in the last six years, and is quickly becoming a familiar face/voice on national television and radio. In this interview, Tez discusses how he got his first taste of comedy when he was looking for a writing course to keep himself occupied in the evenings. He also tells us about his comedy inspirations and his experiences of the Edinburgh Fringe, which he describes as like a month-long “freshers” for comedians. He also tells us about his first solo show, Tez Talks, and his hopes of creating a sitcom for national TV. You can find out more about Tez Ilyas through his website and his Twitter feed.
